Community involvement is essential for any business. Not only are you doing some good with your business resources, but you’re giving your customers one more reason to choose you over your competition.

So I want to make sure you know about the Great American Dine Out.

It’s the 2nd annual Share Our Strength’s Great American Dine Out®, September 20-26, 2009, a nationwide Dine Out to end childhood hunger in America.

Did you know that one in six children in America are at risk of hunger?

It’s a staggering and alarming statistic. That means that your son or daughter probably goes to school with kids who are STARVING!

So who better to help end childhood hunger than those who know more about food than anyone? Restaurants!

More than 2,500 restaurants are already registered to participate in this national event, everyone from coffee shops to fine dining. Restaurants can create the ways they wish to participate that works best for their business and an online marketing and PR resource center is up and running to assist. (These will help you spread the word that you’re supporting this great cause. Make sure you take advantage of it!)

As an independent restaurant owner, you depend on your community to support you. This is your chance to have an impact on it. If all the independent restaurants came together, not only would it impact childhood hunger in America, but it would show those chain restaurants that you’re a force to be reckoned with!

Register today at www.GreatAmericanDineOut.org or for more information contact Jessie Sherrer.

The beauty of a community involvement event such as this – it’s almost all done for you. Just jump on for the ride and take advantage of all the brainpower and effort that the organization has put into it.
