Ways to Make Restaurant Employee Happy
By David Scott Peters
Restaurant Tip of the Week
A Request is a request
Remember scheduling requests are just that: requests. The needs of the business must come first. With that said, hourly employees work in food and beverage for flexibility. So when they put in for a day off, you need to find a way to give it to them, while reserving the right to say no. But I warn you, if you say no, they will most likely take the day off anyway and look for a more flexible job while they’re at it. To allow for these requests without putting yourself in a bind, staff up with two more FTEs (full time equivalents) than required.
